Andrew Irvine’s partial remains located in 2024
Irvine’s boot and foot were located in 2024 by a NatGeo team on Central Rongbuk Glacier.

The exact location has not been stated. It looks pretty far down. That in itself does not mean much because Mallory was found much higher in 1999. There are 4 or 5 reports of expeditions observing Irvine’s body in the 60s and 1975.

There is some alleged facts that the Chinese “officially” claimed Irvine’s body, found the camera, mucked up the film, and tossed Irvines’s body down the mountain/glacier.

The glacier is also moving and all kinds of forces would push Irvine’s remains lower.

I let myself believe Mallory and Irvine made.

They probably did. But as someone over here said, because its always debated whether they or Hillary got there first, To successfully climb a mountain you have to get back alive to tell about it.

M Shy:

The official first to reach the summit of Mr. Everest were named Edmund Hillary and Tibetan mountaineer Tenzing Norgay. They did this in 1955.

Irvine’s camera could prove Mallory and Irvine got there first some 30 years earlier. Sadly, the camera has never been officially recovered. Again, there are some allegations that the Chinese recovered the camera and muck up the film.
