One day at the range the black powder guys were shooting at 8 by 8 1/4 inch steel plates hung from a chain. They had shot one of the plates so to cause the chain to break.

I asked if I could pop it with one of my lead alloy bullets. They said sure, so I leaned the steel plate up against the target stand at 100 yards and left fly. The steel plate disappeared, so at the next cease fire I went and found it. There was a hole big enough to put your finger through, just about dead center, with lead splash all around it.

I was just wondering how many of you use a larger % of babit
in you lead rather then go up a wall jacket size.

Like rather then going to a 0.040 wall on your jacket's
you instead use 15 % babit in the lead making the lead harder
As it is now i run about 5% bibit in the mix
unless asked not to

And on Deer bullet's i use Zero Babit

What do you use if any ?
