Fortitude TV show in channel Pivot.
In the cable TV channel Pivot, there is a new show called Fortitude, it’s a British psychological thriller.

The mythical town of Fortitude is set on the Norwegian island of Spitsbergen.

The show opening scene a polar bear is eating a person, don’t these people know that polar bears only eat mushrooms and berries, how dare they show such a cuddly creature in that way. Also further in the pilot you see two children alone wandering through the frozen wasteland carrying heaven forbid, a R-I-F-L-E, this is bordering on pornography and child abuse. A scientist land on the island and is told that he has to get a rifle in order to be able to wonder around due to the polar bear danger, and a sheriff gives a rifle to a pair of men and confiscates their EVIL DASTARDLY revolver and tells them he will return their weapon when they return to town (where is Senator Dianne Feinstein when you need her). You mean people can carry guns around for protection? Didn’t they get the memo that humans are the evil ones and that global warming is wiping out the polar bears and turning both the Arctic and Antarctic into tropical paradises rather that frozen hell they are?

Am I in a Twilight Zone alternate universe? Pass me the smelling salts I am getting a case of the vapors.

Watch the show, since it’s so politically incorrect and pro gun (I don’t know how the gun hating British left could have allowed this show to be made) it’s worth supporting it.

I do remember an incident about polar bear vs stupid tourist there.IIRC one of the people was armed --with a 22 pistol with two rounds of ammo.Nobody could understand why a bear would attack animal loving libs .
Aaaahhhh, but polar bears just simply see people as lunch ! There is a fine book by the last man to be able to legally hunt the bears there .Makes a tree hugger have nightmares ! Anyone have that book ?
Another question I have. Why does Norway have rampant lion on their coat of arms instead of a rampant polar bear ?

Totally agree with OP firearms as necessary tools, very refreshing. good thriller too...

I do not hunt in order to kill, but kill in order that I have hunted.
