Singleshot03Sending Money Overseas
Can anyone recommend an inexpensive way to send money to my daughter in the Neatherlands. Everytime, she transfers money from her US account with Chase it costs her $40 dollars plus a worse exchange rate.
I greatly appreciate your help,

GatogordoCitibank has a presence in the Netherlands. I'd check with them and ask how a US/Dutch account might work.
In addition, your daughter can get a credit card with no fees for foreign exchange.
She should be able to get an ATM card with minimal fees for withdrawals, maybe with a different bank.
Finally, if she can open an account in a Dutch bank, (many banks these days are refusing US citizens accounts due to reporting requirements), then you could wire her a larger sum for the cost of the wire, usually about $25.

MikelravyMy son lives in the Czech Republic. He is largely self sufficient, but I put money in his US checking account and he can use his debit card there for plane tickets and other expenditures. Wire transfers are too expensive. Be sure that she follows the information reporting regulations if her foreign account balance goes over $US10,000. The penalties are extremely severe.
