Grizzly AdamsCalifornia is a desert, pure and simple, unsuitable for human habitation, only technology and imported water has made it viable. Now it's time to pay the piper.

The Yurok tribe was more-or-less Libertarian in character, should have been the prototype for white settlements in California. Spain fumbled the ball.

You are remarkably ignorant for a Canadian. The Spaniards were establishing vineyards with every mission they established in the 18th century! How were they importing water, pray tell??!!
Be without fear in the face of your enemies. Be brave and upright, that God may love thee. Speak the truth always, even if it leads to your death. Safeguard the helpless and do no wrong;

Small scale and local irrigation, they didn't need to pipe water from hundreds of miles away or suck rivers dry to support millions.

Indians in Arizona managed to do the same, then it got even drier and they disappeared. That's the opinion of many of your "experts", not just mine by the way.
