Wood Bullet Riot-Control Cartridges
This probably isnt the right place for this thread , but someone might be able to help ???

I am after the wooden projectiles that are currently in use in the 37 and 40mm Riot Control cartridges used by various Police and Military groups throughout the world. I beleive there was a large number of these fired in Fergusson , MO , during the recent events there.

I would like to get my hands on a selection of the projectiles to add to my meagre array of riot control projectiles. Dont become a cartridge collector - it will rule your life in a manner similar to big game hunting .....

I thought they used rubber bullets. IMO, they should have used the real things.

I've already been through this in another thread, but it would almost certainly be illegal to ship such items to NZ from the US, not to mention getting hold of one would be difficult, to say the least.

When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere.

NEVER, EVER book a hunt with BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING or JEFF BLAIR.

I have come to understand that in hunting, the goal is not the goal but the process.

Anybody contemplating sending anything, no matter how innocuous it seems, should check the EAR and ITAR regulations very carefully, preferably with a lawyer. I had to hire an attorney to determine if some pollution control equipment could be exported without a permit. And the penalties are horrific.

Where I used to work we made a gun similar to a paint ball gun but using rubber balls, at 750 feet per second. It worked good but police would not buy it, too much money for a tool rarely used.

The best crowd control is fire hoses. In the winter in St. Louis just spray a mist over the problem and let hypothermia go to work

Ever seen the hard plastic projectiles used in years past by the SA police in riot control?

While visiting family near St Louis I had the opportunity to buy a bag of 1000. They have a gas check of sorts, and are spitzer shaped. They only weigh about 35gr, I got them up over 3600fps in my 308W, the cartridge they were designed for.
