Just received the latest (March 2024) edition. What a disappointment. There was an article by Boddington on the Strasser straight pull rifle. As the owner of a Blaser R98 multi barrel set, I was looking forward to a detailed analysis of the locking mechanism employed in both rifles. Nothing! He said he has owned Blasers so he is in an ideal position to compare. I think the word 'Blaser' was mentioned twice. He acknowledges that the straight pull has not caught on in the US, but thinks that this one will because it has"familiar roots" ie. it is called the "RS 700"!
The Blasers have always had a reputation for excellent accuracy. My rifle in all the calibers I have is certainly in that category. the Strasser, in 6.5 Creedmoor, and costing $3600, achieved 1.3 inch groups. Admittedly I do not shoot 5, 5 shot groups in a row.

I shot a Wal-Mart Remington 710 (.270 Win) last week that printed .75 inch groups with factory ammo. It cost $350 with the scope. Maybe I should write an article for AR! Big Grin

A friend bought one of the Savage straight pupp rifles in 7PRC. Used it last fall and sold it. Said was a real piece of junk. I do not know the details.
