We have a LG HDTV that has a cable input and want to add antenna DT input. I connected the cable input to an antenna/cable switch box. I switched to antenna and maually selected Antenna Program. It picked up over 30 local channels. The problem is that when I switched back to cable the cable channel programming was wiped out. When I manually selected Cable and re-programmed I got my cable back but the Antenna was wiped clean.

My thought is to select Auto Program, and when it finishes with Antenna, quickly switch to Cable. Will that work or do I need a different option? Can both feeds be merged through a splitter type device and programmed at the same time? Do I need to get a router and run an HDMI cable to the TV and reserve the coax for the antenna? Other suggestions?
