Met a young guy at a dinner party tonight who grew up in Dubai. His family are foreign workers there.

He said that a lot of the workers buy high-end cars to impress their families and to try to keep up with the lifestyle there. Then they just abandon them when they decide to leave the country - or take off because they know what's coming, I guess.
