KenscoZhumir Reposado Reserva Especial
I was gifted a bottle in Guayaquil, Ecuador last week. They say drink it as you would a rum. It's an 80-proof version of aguardiente de cana.
Anyone had any experience with it?

No but after looking it up you have me interested. It looks like around $20 a fifth, that is reasonable if it is good.

GatogordoSounds pretty suspect to me. I think you should send it to me for proper disposal. In the spirit (pun intended) of AR fellowship, I'll even pick it up.

KenscoI'll pass on that offer.
I think I must be on a winning streak. I got my wife back last night, and durned if that good-looking rascal didn't pull a bottle of Ron San Miguel Solera 1952, AƱejo, Gran Reserva Especial out of her luggage. (Their rum is made in Cuenca, Ecuador.)
Twenty years ago my brother-in-law bought me a bottle of Ron San Miguel 7. Before I could open it we moved from Venezuela to Singapore. I decided to hide it in a shipment going to storage in the U.S. That was 2003. When I retired in 2012 and everything came out of storage, it was the like the best Christmas ever. I had forgotten about my hidden stash. In addition to the Ron San Miguel 7, I found two unopened bottles of Espiritu del Ecuador, one bottle of Cacique 500, and a bottle of Glenfiddich. (Ever since my mother weaned me, I've had this fear of dying of thirst.) One bottle of Espiritu del Ecuador and the Glenfiddich remain unopened.
I'll think long and hard before I pull the plug on the Solera 1952.
I can see I'm going to have to pace myself or develop one Hell of a drinking problem.
