NormanConquestSuper moon
Is everyone aware about Sunday nights lunar experience? 1st time since 1982 it has been this close to earth + in conjuntion with a full lunar eclipse. Here in central Tx. it should occur between 9:00 = 10:00 P.M CST.
Never mistake motion for action.

Idaho Sharpshooterit looked pretty neat. And it got my wife out in the backyard on a blanket for an hour...

GrenadierIt was amazing!
Full lunar eclipse coinciding with a super moon = Super Blood Moon.
Joel 2:31 (Common English Bible):
"The sun will be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood before the great and dreadful day of the LORD comes."

GatogordoDidn't mean much to me, I didn't even walk outside to see it. Just another day made.
OTOH, my wife and I caught a bunch of good sized bass yesterday morning, beat the hell out of a moon, eclipsed or otherwise.

NEVER, EVER book a hunt with BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING or JEFF BLAIR.
I have come to understand that in hunting, the goal is not the goal but the process.

KenscoI was disappointed. Slight overcast from where I stood wrecked the detail. No "blood" shading to speak of. Looked good at the "full" position, but other than that a waste of time. Glad it's a "once in a lifetime" deal that occurs every 30 or so years, so maybe I'll get another chance.

TomPWe watched the one in 1982, and the one last night too. Well worth a little sleep deficit...

It wasn't that great in Dallas, but I did sit outside with the dog and a whiskey. Wyman Meinzer had better photos on the Facebook.

KenscoStrange!?!?
I ended-up watching the guy next door through my binoculars. He was sitting with his dog, and what looked like a whiskey.

lavacaI hope to see it from the plane. I'll be en route between Houston and Amsterdam, on my way to Tanz at the time. With the new external cameras on the planes, I may have one of the best views.

lavacaOh, that was last Sunday. Missed it.

Mark ClarkI was in the middle of nowhere in central Nevada, it is pitch black. The moon was very red, just like the pictures. I think any amount of ambient light washes out the color.

KenscoUntil Trump builds that wall, I have to be on the lookout for illegal aliens "immigrating" from Plano, another Jade Helm 15 conspiracy, or perhaps Ted Cruz trying to move in next to me.
I keep my binoculars within arms reach at all times. The Yankees are trying to overrun us.
