My Inspiration

NavyVetMy Inspiration
This is my 17 yr old son. He has battled brain cancer since age 11, and has to deal with a slew of medical problems everyday. He takes more pills than most 80 yr olds, has had three brain surgeries and radiation. He's dealt with cancer recurrence and metastasis. But, he never gives up and he never feels sorry for himself. When I get down about something, he lifts me up. His heart is pure and he's an inspiration to everyone he meets. He took this lovely lady to prom this Friday. Which, is pretty darn good considering his then oncologist didn't think he'd survive past the age 14.
Every day is a gift, and I just wanted to share.

N E 450 No2I know you are proud of him, I would be to.
Never give up.
My middle brother died of a Brain Tumor in the early 1970's. He was 16 years old.
He fought it well, as best he could.
You and your family are in my Prayers.

pagosawingnutIt takes a lot of courage to play the hand that Mother Nature deals us sometimes. Makes you realize how precious time is.
Best wishes.

NavyVetHe's a tough kid. His kidneys stopped working last Friday. Texas Children's sent a leer jet and he was life flighted to Houston on Saturday. It's a hard life when you struggle with your health. But, he keeps fighting and I think the Lord isn't ready to take him just yet. He shows me what it truly means to live, and how to fight for that life.

NavyVetThank you. All prayers are greatly appreciated. I hate being stuck in this hospital. It's a scary, yet, lonely and boring place. I hope he gets better soon so we can go home.

NavyVetIt's been a long week! But, we've finally gotten home. Texas Children's did a great job, and with the grace of God, saved his life. They think he was attacked by some kind of a viral infection. Thank you all for the prayers and well wishes. They are always welcome and appreciated.

zeeriverrat1NavyVet...I know where you are right now and my thoughts and prayers are with you.
I lost my son to Muscular Dystrophy on June 30th, of this year... Like your son, he never complained and just went about his life as if nothing was wrong, the example he set (not unlike your son) touched many folks and made them re-examine the way they lived and how they treated other people, and how they approached lifes problems..
My son was diagnosed at birth and not expected to live through infancy...but he battled MD for 30 years, and I was blessed, along with a lot of other folks for all those years...
I wish the best for you and your son and my prayers are with you! What a great picture to share!
