GatogordoTVs "All in the Family"
One of our satellite channels out of the couple of hundred which have nothing interesting on them, shows 2 episodes most nights from 8-9.
It's funnier to me, now, than it was 40 years ago or so.
I hate to admit, but, like some people grow up to be their fathers, I think I've grown up to be Archie. Oh well, everybody has to be somebody.

NEVER, EVER book a hunt with BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING or JEFF BLAIR.

KenscoKind of a little tangent here, but you know the old show I would like to see again; Amos & Andy. I always felt badly for those actors after I grew up. They were the pioneers for the black actors that appear on TV sit-coms and in movies these days, and the Blacks act like those people never existed, are an embarrassment to their race, and refuse to allow the programs to be aired on television. Pitiful I think.
I always thought I would know when African Americans really felt themselves as equal to Whites. It would be when they gave credit to those early black actors and allowed their work to be shown. African Americans haven't grown enough to laugh at themselves.
For that matter, pick a Black sit-com and tell me it is any more intelligent than the Amos & Andy shows. Current black actors get awards, and the early actors get ridiculed and banished to God knows where.

GatogordoWell, to be fair, the A&A TV show was basically cancelled after 2 seasons due to black (NAACP) protests about the stereotypes of the characters, so black resentment of the show is not a recent phenomena.
Of course, the radio show, 1928-1960, which was the basis for the series was created and voiced by 2 white men and it had negative black reaction as early as 1930.

On the slimmest chance that your wife would read this thread, I think I would delete that post. Divorces are expensive, but murder is so permanent.

TWallI would much rather be Archie than meathead!
We get All in the family on one of our cable channels. I watch it some nights, followed by Barney Miller and then Johnny Carson. It is surprising to watch those old shows and see how they were pushing boundaries back then.

KenscoThe only thing I have against All In The Family is that it launched The Jeffersons.

MMMMaking noise in the house while old dad was watching All in the Family was a sure ticket to an ass whipping when I was a kid. Same went for Hee Haw.

That would be called an Affirmative action program.
