KenscoFinally Got A Name For It
Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE)
I've had this weird choking event periodically. Normally it includes eating rice; with chicken or fish. The food suddenly begins to stack-up in my throat. On a hunt in Zimbabwe once I was eating rice and talapia, and it happened. I tried to drink some water to clear the blockage. The water just stacked-up on top of the blockage; a very strange, and very uncomfortable feeling. The only way to clear it was to vomit.
A few years later I'm eating dinner with my son, and it happens to him. Doctors I go to can't find anything wrong. His problem keeps getting more frequent, and he goes to take tests and a biopsy. They diagnose Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE). They removed a "stricture" with cold forceps. He's not had another event.
