My oldest son has no fear of snakes. He'll grab a rattler by the tail, shake him straight + hit him on the head w/ a tire tool. Then the little shit had the nerve to put one in the upright freezer coiled up like as if to strike at eye level.

I would have bet on the rattler, but I guess size matters.

I'm not a snake fan. They usually end-up dead if they surprise me. Given fair warning, I'll let a non-venomous snake "walk" away, if it's not near the house. (I don't like future surprises either.)

i don't tend to go into their heritage. live snake = dead snake. had too many run in with em. if i knew how i'd post a pic or 2 of a coupla i shot that i found in our hunting tent. been dealing with em since i was a kid and still hate em.

Several years ago I got the opportunity to bow hunt in Aransas as there had been some flooding + many alligators had washed over the levee into areas that TP+WL did't want them.they also made it clear that we could not kill any rattlesnakes if encountered,as the were "endangered".I figured if I saw one he was endangered all right.
