taylorce1My wood working skills suck!
I decided to start filling my 40X60 shop full of tools. I'm not much of a mechanic or welder, so I thought I might try my hand at a little wood working. I've found that I've got a long ways to go.
However, YouTube and my wife's favorite Pintrest were a big help. Thought I'd never admit the latter to my wife or else she'll be looking for even more projects for me.
It's got some character but luckily it is supposed to look that way.
I did get some pretty cool tools though without my wife asking me why I needed them. I picked up a new Kreg pocket hole jig, way faster and easier than my old dowel jig. A contractors DeWalt table saw and small Porter Cable 6" jointer. Then I picked up refurbished Ryobi 7.5" compound miter saw and a some more refurbed Ryobi One+ cordless tools at the local tool outlet.
Of course I'm sure she'll want more stuff built around the house. I'm learning it's been over 20 years since I had Industrial Arts in high school and this is the first place I've owned I could set up a dedicated workshop. Here is to hoping I get better.

GatogordoI wouldn't be so hard on yourself. It looks pretty nice to me and I'm sure your wife loves it. I'd call it a good job, well done.

KenscoI'm a little concerned about you Taylorce1.
I see no pet in either photo, yet a feeding dish is on the floor in the second photo. Is that where you eat your meals?
I would say you better keep building nice stuff for your wife or you will find yourself chained-up in the backyard next.
As a small child I stacked blocks. That is the extent of my woodworking skills.
Nice work.

I think the "Odd Couple" were outside watching the barn cats.
I don't know where my daughters fat cat she nicknamed "Type II" was at.

larrysLooks good to me. If nothing else, it is a reason for more tools. I love woodworking.
