I named a HUGE bullfrog that lived in my pond, Elvis. He has a very deep baritone call. Kind of like a lion's roar, you could feel it reverberate if you were nearby when he called.

My Elvis wouldn't bite'cher leg off. He was a nice old frog.

We were given an African grey parrot, also named Elvis.

I didn’t like that name, so changed to MENACE!

Turned she was a female.

She couldn’t fly, but followed me everywhere in the house, calling me MENACE!!

Eventually she became sick, got liver cancer??

When she couldn’t follow me around any more, I made her a bed in a large shoe box, and carried wherever I went in the house.

Gym, workshop and shooting room.

One afternoon she looked like she wasn’t going to make it.

I had her on my loading bench next to me working.

Then I saw her starting to sway.

I took her out and held her in me lap.

Not long after she died.

I buried her under a tree in our garden.

Sounds like you gave her a good life. Parrots do not like being alone and carrying her around while she was sick was very good.

We have lots of birds in our very large aviary.

And we have two African Grays which live with us inside the house.

Very vocal, and know probably close to 200 words between them.

Very intelligent.

When I turn the lights off, they say NIGHT NIGHT. DADDY LOVES YOU!

When I open a can of Pepsi, they burb!

Because I do.

And it means I WANT SIME TOO.

They drink Pepsi with me after dinner!

When I an in the kitchen sometimes, they go CRACK! CRACK!

They want nuts.

I chew cashew nuts for them, and feed them from my mouth!

They still think I am mommy!

I used to listen to "Car Talk" with Click + Clack, the tappet brothers on Saturday mornings, a call in show with folks wanting car mechanical advice. It was a scream of great humor. There was one guy who called in to say that his car was doing the Elvis idle, you know, it goes, uh,huh,un,huh.
