On Veterans Day I was reminded by a short article written by Robert A. Heinlein several years ago on Patriotism, it goes like this,
Patriotism is the most practical of all human characteristics. It is as necessary a part of man's evolutionary equipment as are his eyes, as useful to the human race as eyes are to the individual. In ascending order the qualities of patriotism are:
1- To work, fight, or die for your own survival
2- Ditto for your immediate family
3-Ditto for extended family, tribe or clan.
4-Ditto for a group too large for all the individuals to know each other.
5-Ditto for a way of life.
The pacifist says he wants to abolish war; save the human race from destroying itself. Anyone who disagrees with him is a bloodthirsty, warmongering, imperialistic, hired killer in uniform, + he will tell you so to your face. Trying to judge the pacifists motives is a waste of time, for his mental processes are faulty. His head isn't screwed on tight, + he lives in a world of fantasy.

I think pacifism, like veganism, is a mental illness. These sorts of people simply cannot reason or think properly. Bad wiring.
