Anyone here had a laminectomy?
I'm scheduled for one the second week in April at L-5. I am sure hoping the recovery period is a lot shorter than it was for my two lumbar fusions in 2012. That took months before I could get back on a tractor and mow my gopher holes.

Yes, sir.
It will be a lot better for recovery time than the fusions but will still need 4 days before you start to feel human again.

I have had a laminectomy, disectomy, and a titanium bridge implanted in my spine. The best advice I can give is to do your rehab and when you think you can't do anymore, try harder, you will be much better off and the end result is worth it. Jerry Hoover

I've been lurking here for a few months and have enjoyed much of the content but never really thought I had much to add. But this is a topic that I can comment on. I had a lumbar laminectomy in November 1991 when I was 25 years old. They had me up and walking around few hours after the surgery. I had to be off work for two months due to the physical demands of my job, I do autobody repair. That was 25 years ago and I'm still doing the same type of work and have had virtually no problems whatsoever. I hope your surgery and results go as well as mine have.
