Remember The Alamo
Today is the anniversary of the falling of the Alamo in 1836.We Texans hold this as a VERY solemn day. I + other Tejanos still salute you.God bless Texas.

Norman, I have some wood from that old live oak inside the Alamo walls. I don't have much but when I use it I do think of the sacrifice them boys did.

At the time of the battle, it was a much larger compound, 3.5 acres I believe. I'd settle for some just outside the old mission. Wink

What probably 99% of the population (outside of TX) do not realize is that Texas was not a territory that was "taken" "purchased" or "annexed" by the United States... TEXAS was a FREE REPUBLIC that petitioned the United States for entry into the union and statehood..
