Anyone have high quality AccurateReloading logos?
Doing a custom project and want to laser the AR logo, but having trouble finding a high quality version.

Help him out guys. Tyler is a fine young man that came into our mists due to a familiar interest. I recall at the time that as he was a teenager his father had qualms about him contacting us + accepting components (Hell, as a dad I would). Anyway dad checked us out + figured we were safe enough. There are some sick puppies out there but I have never found one in the shooting fraternity.Best of luck Tyler in your new business. P.S. are you planning on making a bullpup left hand model?

Thanks for the kind words...and our bullpup takes both left and right handed actions Wink

This logo is gonna be for a big batch of loading trays for Saeed. All I have is a .gif that isn't very large.

I really hate to say stuff like this, but check with Don to make sure there are no copyright issues. He may also have a good logo.

...If not out of courtesy to Saeed, as well, I'd say this is one of those "ask permission" scenarios.

In order to make memorabilia, one needs quality artwork, which, no doubt has to exist.

Seems very appropriate to ask first.

Is this a one-off kind of thing? Because Accurate Reloading trays would be a really cool thing for the reloading bench.

Yes,

We are making these for Saeed. Would be just fine selling them to others at the same price Will post pictures when they're ready.

But, we still need a good quality logo. Right now we have a fairly low resolution GIF...which will look not the best when lasered in.

If there are T-shirts and whatever with AR logo, it must exists in high resolution IMHO.

Some draft of new logo here (map and buffalo loaded from internet...):

It's certainly close but the buffalo is different than the other logos...these are going to anodization next and need a logo within a week to laser on, or else we'll do no logos. Man are they CLEAN:

What about this one (this is just rough cutted one, must be cleaned):

It is made out of this:

It's a laser and not a color printer, not even a 256 shades of grey B&W printer. Also, the image needs to be small enough to fit into the small area available on the cartridge holders.

I suggest something simple like this:

The PNG above is 420 pixels x 230 pixels and when printed will end up smaller than it is now being displayed in your browser at 72 ppi. Printed at 300 dpi the PNG above will be will be 1.4" x 0.77", at 200 dpi it will be 2.1" x 1.15", etc. And, yes, the background is transparent, like it should be.

I also think the text needs to be larger. Remember, the logo will be small and small text will become illegible. So, something like this might be in order:

Here's what that would look like if printed at 300 dpi:

And if printed at 200 dpi:

I think you would be surprised the accuracy of the laser, putting that embroidered logo on it would look JUST like the picture.

The problem with those embroidered logos is the shading, the laser will try and recreate that and make a mess.

But, I'm working on essentially recreating the logo for lasering. Jiri, yes that is extremely close to the AR logo buffalo. For the laser, imagine a "coloring book" type image looks the best.

This is by no means acceptable, but just an example of the preciseness of the laser. This is only about an inch wide, it's the AR logo cleaned up a bit, but the shading is far too extreme to turn out well:

Tyler, I am very familiar with lasers. If you want to you can print the hairs on a flea's ass. But you won't be able to see them without a microscope.

If you take the blue image you just posted and zoom out until it is 1" wide then you will see the problem. The verbiage is there but it's too small for most people to read without a magnifying glass. What good is that?

As to a laser not being a color printer and the number of colors/shades of gray, well your image shows exactly what I was speaking about. If it can't handle something like the gray scale image I posted then it needs to be reduced to a simple drawing.

Here is a quick example of what can be done by equalizing the image and hand blotting out the odd dots. This took about five minutes, it is just an example. A little more time, some hand sharpening of lines, and you will have what you need.

As it would appear at 300 dpi:

Of course adding an outer oval and placing text in that would be an easy thing. But I still think it is better to have either no text or text large enough to read.

Why don't you just pay for someone who does art to do the art, and then split he cost between everyone who wants a shell holder.

Gatogordo
This is just my personal opinion, and since I'm not paying for the product, it counts for zero, but I think a simple "AccurateReloading.com" in decent sized letters on one end would add to the end product and be simple and clean. Equally if someone wanted to buy extras, they could have them engraved with their wishes.

Took a lot of work, but I think this looks good! I spent a long while going through the logo by hand, trying to keep some of the original shading and shape, while making it much more laser friendly:

Well trays are all anodized, going to lasering as soon as I go pick them up.

We are also starting a large batch of loading trays tomorrow, in 223, PPC, 308, 284, Magnum, WSM/SAUM, Lapua, and Cheytac sizes. We can get an AR group buy going.
