Yes, I know this is supposed to be the Political Forum but in watching the local news just now, on the Sports segment they showed a list of plaeyers that have been traded to other teams, but honestly how can anyone take a person with the name of Ha ha Clinton Dix seriously??????

Just thank God you will never have to find out how serious he is!

He played college football at Alabama, winning two national championships.

I don't care what he has done, but that name really does not do his accomplishments much justice.

The Clinton Dix is one thing, but Ha ha!

I used to have a sales rep. call on me from the A.C. supply house. Big jolly fellow. The 1st time I met him he came up with outstretched hand + said,"Hi.I'm Curly Dick." Yep that was his name + I guarantee one name that you will never forget;useful in a salesmans line of work.

I view things from the position of being a 68 year old Texan trying to understand why folks give their children such names.

I remember a girl that worked in Guest Services at the FW Zoo, when I worked there as a Keeper and this girls name tag had Tundra on it, but she pronounced her name as Tun Drey!

Can I assume that her complection was slightly darker than yours?

Makes them easy to identify.

I didn't at the time!

When I was in Houston and joined the Greater Houston Gun Club, they gave me a name tag to wear.

I asked if I can have another one, and was told it costs $3 - I think - and I can have as many as I want!

I got one printed with MR. NICE GUY.

I wore it to shoots, and everyone one shaking my hands and "nice to meet you Mr. Nice Guy"

It did not stop some from calling me "camel jokey" or "sand nigger" either.

The lovely days of no PC!

And no one has checked to determine that "Ha Ha" is a nickname??!!

Knew of a guy in the oilfield business of northern NM by the name of Chip Monk. His business motto included, you guessed it, a chipmunk. In a hard hat. It was awesome.

In the late 60's I knew a man whose real name was James Bond.Although he was aging + balding he had the vanity plates on his MG as 007.I mean come on,who would'nt? Ian Flemming BTW lived the life that he depicted of Bond so at the age of 57 he died of lung cancer,alcohalism,+ V.D.True.As to the Bond of my aquaintence,I had always been of the opinion that these old farts driving sports cars were just trying to recapture youth with a vanity approach,rather silly really. But as I have aged + hopefully grown a bit wiser I have developed a new more forgiving theory. Now,I have no use for a sports car but I dearly love 50's models pickups.I've had quite a few but now are as rare as hens teeth.What I came to was that just maybe they were'nt trying to recapture that youth but that now was the 1st time in their life that they could afford that car that they always wanted.It is a more kind summation.
