I was jaded, and didn't intend to make any effort to watch the games. The TV coverage was so varied, it was hard not to miss. I ended up watching Phelps of course, the women's gymnastics, men and women's soccer, women's archery, among others. But the final that had my jaw dropping was Fiji beating Great Britain for the gold medal in rugby; 43 - 7.

Fiji had never before won an Olympic medal before. It was like watching men playing against boys. Even if you were not familiar with rugby rules it was an incredible show of strength and skill. The NFL needs to look at some of those Fijians. Watching them play reminded me of Jim Brown, Earl Campbell or Bo Jackson.
