Yes the wingtips drag the ground. Probably they are reinforced.

That's one of the best I've seen. The first one was in 1961 at Ft.Bragg when the great Charley Hilliard pulled it.
And of course the wing tips are heavily reinforced. No aircraft fabric would take that kind of punishment.

Yeah, it is a wonderful airplane that got lawyered out of production because some jury riddled with idiots ruled it unsafe, When I was 18, I took my mother on her first airplane ride in one.

Yeah, he was just getting his start in '61. I was a kid in the 82nd flying PA-18's and 140's with the Ft. Bragg Flying Club. The club sponsored an air show. Bevo Howard was there also, flying his Jungmeister. We saw some flying that day.
