One of the simpler looking tricks, but I was impressed with getting the 4 pieces of bread to land in the toaster. That took some practice. Neat vid. Thanks.

If we are talking about honest to goodness real life, there is no one that can beat my friend Nelson.

Nelson is from Chile, and he has been hunting with us on safari many times.

But, on two separate occasions, he made two shots that defied any comprehension.

We still talk about "how the hell did he do that?"

1. He was trying to shoot a kongoni. The kongoni stopped behind a tree, but one can see his front half. His middle and rear were hidden behind a tree.

Nelson fired a shot from my 375/404, and the kongoni took off as if someone had hit him with an electric prod.

WE ran after him, and Nelson managed to shoot him again and kill him.

We all stood in aew as we saw the first hit.

The kongono was hit in the balls!!!

We looked at the video, and confirmed that the kongoni's balls were most definitely NOT vissible to us while he was standing at teh first shot.

We are still unable to understand how that had happened.


2. Nelson and his adventure with kongonis seem to never stop.

He wounded a kongon in long grass, and we all went along with him.

The kongoni jumped up less than 20 yards from us, and started running.

Nelson fired a shot at him, and the kongoni disappeared in the grass again.

We walked up to him, and gave him a finishing shot.

Nelson second shot, raking from the left side.

The bullet entered just ahead of the left rear leg - perfect shot!

But, the bullet changed direction as it went under the skin, went upwards, following the contour of the body, over the top, down again, and forward, and stopped just behind the shoulder under the skin on the other side.

It caused no damage whatsoever as it followed its strange path under the skin.

We have had people with a combined hunting experience of over 100 years, and no one seems to know how these could have happened.

I do not want to repeat the second trick, but I sure would like to be able to put a bullet in part of the animal I cannot actually see!

I saw a video of the making of the clip in the original post above. Apparently, the guy filmed hundreds of attempts of each trick over years of trying to make the compilation video.

I suppose that Jerry Miculic would qualify.I talked w/ a S+W rep. at the shot show + his comment was that he could lay an open cylinder revolver beside him + throw a speed loader into the works every time.

Ever see the one where someone shoots a 22 through a pitcher of water and a guy catches the bullet in his teeth?

And No, I don't want to be the catcher!

A crossing pheasant. I know it may not be a trick shot for most. I have shortened more than my share of tail feathers.
