Plinker603First Deer Mount
This is my 2008 9 point the biggest buck i ever shot. And the first taxidermy project i actually completed. all my other attempts i gave up or procastinated because taxidermy is sort of mind boggling when you try to figure some of that stuff out. But i guess most of you are allready over that hurdle. Well don't laugh too hard.

Aspen Hill AdventuresHey Penny,
Looks better than anything I could do! You know what they say, practice makes perfect. At least you are going for it!

Plinker603Thanks Ann!
I'm going to order some videos, before attempting another.
Thanks for your encouraging words. Hope you had a good hunting season and definitely have a great new year!

Kyler HamannAnn got that right, it's a world better than I could do.
For some gag gifts, I was drawing some Christmas trees and even with a stencil I still couldn't get them right.
I can take critters apart with my eyes closed but it seems like a magic trick to put them back together and make them look alive.
People complain about taxidermy fees but not too many taxidermists seem to be getting rich and its a skill very few of us could ever master.

Plinker603Thank you Kyler.
doing that deer made me appreciate the work of real taxidermists. They have to like what they do, and they sure earn every dollar. Another thing is all the chemicals is a bother, i've had muscle twitches for the past week, its from accidently breathing fumes and touching chemicals. Probably carcinogens...excuse me i better go eat some broccoli.
Happy New Year!

Mary Hilliard-KruegerPenny,
PM me and I will recommend some videos to help you along. Also, you really should wear a respirator and gloves when working with chemicals.
Kind regards,
Mary
