HELP!! Wanting to fix a "European" mount
If anyone can provide me with the correct procedures to make a European mount, I would appreciate it. I shot an "average" 8 pointer and I would like to do something with it, but dont want to invest the money in a mount. However, being this is my first nice sized buck, I would like to do something to keep it as a memory. (I am a meat hunter, not a trophy hunter, but either way I love to hunt!) SOOOOO....any help provided here to a late 20's rookie hunter would be greatly appreciated! (Marmothunter)

I would put the head in a freezer if you can start working with it right away. Or a bucket of water that can be shifted regulary.. To avoid the blood from discolouring the scull.

Remove the skin, cut the scull (different cuts, what suits you?), boil with washing soda. Cleen very well (takes hours..), then bleach with peroxid. I usually let the scull dry for a night after cleaning, then puts the peroxid on cotton or toilet paper covering the scull.. One night and then of..
Good luck!

I agree with Widowmaker416.
My answer was a short version.. Smiler
But I thought I would post since I feel the results is better if you don`t leave it laying around for weeks.. Then the blood might make the scull very hard to get perfectly white..
