I've got two HUGE panels of elephant skin, tanned a beautiful dark gray.

Does anyone know of someone who would take some of this stuff and make a pair of ladies' boots?

Also, since I'll have a lot left over, what are some other ideas?

There are some really shady industry standards on what is acceptable for left over leather.

Did Dick use some cow leather to stiffen that rifle case or is it all elephant?

Yes, it has cow leather as a liner and then some sort of artificial fleece against the gun.

It's stiff enough that it will even stand up in a rack when the gun is out of it.

You might want to hold off on sending anything to Trophy Hides Leather. I sent them a buffalo cape and money in May and have not been able to contact them since. Emails unanswered and telephone automatically goes to an answering machine that is full (it tells you to hang up). Internet search shows there is an eviction notice on the door, and others are pursuing refunds via their credit card companies. This company is also known as Uber Glove and Tanning Company and recently changed address and phone (Ham Lake,MN).
