AR MANOxpecker
Just wondering if any one has added an oxpecker with say a buffalo or sable mount to add another dimension of reality??
Thanks

Jerry HuffakerI've seen it done quite often, Mckenzie taxidermy supply has some cast oxpeckers that look nice

bo-n-aroWanted to add one to my personal kudu pedestal mount but just have a hard time turning loose with that $75...n

I like them, especially if you have a mount with habitat.

GraftonI had played around with this idea a while before the McKenzie one showed up but I am sure there were plenty of others doing something similar before me. Someone that works there probably saw mine

Here is a thread that shows one of the Mckenzie birds on a kudu mount I did a while back.
http://forums.accuratereloadin...821043561#2821043561Some people like them and others find them distracting. I kind of like them on the big stuff as it adds a little life I think. probably one per trophy room is enough.
Very common on buff mounts observed in Africa, in my experience. I think it's a great addition to the mount. I have been told by a taxidermist in Bulawayo that it is prohibitively difficult to import oxpeckers to the States; special permits and all. Never took the time to find out if he was correct or not.

AR MANGrafton thanks for taking the time to repost past work you have done useing oxpecker mounts. It appears to me that your great looking buffalo mounts were lessened by the poor oxpeckers and without importing a real one they simply look fake. I've decided not to have mine mouted with one for that reason so thanks for your help!!
