Mountain Goat wall pedestal
I recently saw a picture of a Tahr done as a wall pedestal. It looked really nice. He had a nice mane and I think you were able to see more of it as a wall pedestal than you would a regular shoulder mount.

Anyone ever seen this done with a Mtn. goat. I thought it might be a nice alternative for a long haired goat if you don't have the room for the full body.

I wish I had something like that done with my tahr. It had a super cape but the effect was lost with a shoulder mount. I now think it deserved at least a half-lifesize. Too late now, though.

A goat should look good as a wall pedestal, but IMO, a half mount would be even nicer.

Beautiful tahr, Tony! You should have life-sized it and built onto the house a bit more. Wink

Here's one, from a few years back, we did for a client.

Mary,

That goat is nice but I still think a half wall mount is better because it shows off the leggings on the front legs. With my thar, it would have used all of that long-haired cape.

The taxidermist in NZ who did the prep work on our stuff for shipping to the US had a life-size one in the shop. It was quite impressive. Problem was Mark was already doing my bear lifesize. So expense was a factor in my decision.

As for adding on, I've just about used up my backyard already. My neighbor on the left doesn't use his much, though. So maybe he'd let me build on a few square feet. Roll Eyes

Tony,

I agree with the 1/2 lifesize certainly showing more leggings and hair, but if space is an issue the wall pedistal is a nice alternative to a standard wall mount.

Also, you can always go up with your addition... rotflmo...and have a nice Arizona sun deck...LOL!
