I talked my buddy into shipping back the hide from his hippo from our hunt in Zambia, only to find out that (for various reasons) this may have been a mistake.

The hide is fleshed and salted, ready for tanning. It's heavy as hell too. Hide arrived at our taxidermist in December.

I may be interested in a piece of the hide for making uppers on a pair of elephant boots. Anybody interested in splitting the hide?
