calgarychef1Was the skull prepared in Africa?

Aspen Hill AdventuresChef, if you are asking about mine, no. I've got the lower jaw and the whole thing rests on a table. I do like the plaque mount above too, very pretty wood.

calgarychef1I'm wondering about the one in the picture. I think they look pretty cool!

Yes, this was in Africa and was still being worked on.
I am with Aspen Hill on Euros, I like the bottom jaw and all teeth on the Euro Mounts, it adds a bit to the cost but is definitely worth it if done properly i.e. pull the teeth out, cure, then put them back.

calgarychef1Depends on the mount, sometimes I like the bottom jaw. On deer, elk, stags I like the skull split because it's way more traditional. How long is the giraffe skull?

collectorIt was longer than a Steenbok....I will try to dig out a comparison pic.

Hope this gives you some idea for the size of Giraffe euro mount. This is a different skull, it was maybe a tad bit smaller than the first one I posted. The first one was just enormous.

calgarychef1Thanks, that gives it some perspective. Big animals for sure!
