Rubbed bear
What if anything can be done to make rub spots on spring bear disappear. I don't have such a bear yet, but am going brown bear hunting and wondering what my options might be.
Thanks

Shoot the bear early enough in the season that he hasn't got any rub spots. Smiler Seen some thin areas that the taxidermist has judiciously trimmed out, but Plan A is best.

Get him mounted rubbing the "rubbed spot" against a tree.

That is the chance you take with a spring bear hunt. You want a bear with perfect spring fur, that hasn't rubbed any spots, but that might not happen. Personally, I think that a rubbed bear hide looks like hell, so I would hold out for one that didn't have any rubbed spots. Everyone is different. The point is to have fun, and enjoy your hunt, maybe it won't be an issue.
