zebra rug durability
I could have sworn that there was a thread on this topic at one time, but I can't locate it. My zebra rug will be home soon, completely carpet-backed and padded. My wife has been insisting that it go on the floor (hence the padding) whereas I want to hang it to lengthen its life. What's the concensus here? If the rug is placed in a fairly low-traffic area, on a laminate floor and out of direct sun how will it hold up? By "low-traffic" I mean that it will still be walked on several times each day, but not dozens or hundreds of times. Are there any types of special treatment or cleaning that will help?

CaracalMy experience is that the rug will loose quite a bit of hair. It will last for years but I'll only use simple rugs (hartebeest looks good) on the floor.

Put it on the floor. If it wears out, and eventually it will, it gives you a good reason to go and fetch another one! As usual, just my .02 worth

talentrecI have two that have been on the floor in high traffic areas in the house for about six years. They both look about the same as when they were put down. I noticed some hair on the floor when they were new, but now I really don't notice any. Use the brush attachment and vacuum them when you clean the floors and you should be good to go.

Safari JamesPut it on the floor unless they are being used in an entrance way to wipe muddy/wet feet on. The ones I have on the floor look the same as they did when I put them down. One has been in a high traffic area for a few years and the other in a very low traffic area.

lee440I put mine in the formal dining room, under the table. It looks nice, is easily seen and gets very little wear.
