Wow, those are some nice looking lions both of you guys. Something looks a little off with that lioness though, not sure what.

I can't wait until the day I can afford to hunt a lion for my own. They're number one on my list.

Really good taxidermy "nobody2" .. I agree that lioness by AA looks off in the face. The male however is a great mount.

I agree regarding the lioness. It looks like the eyes have been rotated up so that the lioness would be looking up at you. From the angle the picture was taken, it looks odd. It may have looked better to lift the chin more and have the lioness looking straight at you vs. the severe upward rotation of the eyes. The male really is a great looking mount.

Those eyes on the lioness still bug me. Hmm.

Nobody2 - I'm curious about the mount. Did the hunter shoot two lions at the same time or was one tanned and put in the freezer until the another lion was shot, or . . ? Seems like quite a challenge to bag two lions around the same time. Thanks.

Sevens,

Regarding your ?, I actually don't recall. They were tanned when I received them to work on. They were collected by a very prominent hunter.

Obviously, she is looking at the male, what is the problem, afterall he is positioned above her. Dr.C.

No problem, the mounts are fantastic. We are just nit picking because the guy who did the mounts is not here Big Grin

If she is looking at the male, the "gaze" looks just a little off, thats all. The male is to her upper left and she seems to be looking straight up. It may just be the photograph.

She is also a little stiff looking. If her head were rolled to the side a bit or even to have her head rubbing against the leg of the male would be better. Lions are always rubbing up against each other and I think it would add a little more life to an already great presentation.
