Not my favorite pose but what a great piece of taxidermy. Love the position of the mouth.

Outstanding! I'm impressed with the rockwork, snow and vegetation used in your pieces. I love how the rock creeps down into the base, neat touch. As someone else said, maybe not my favorite pose. I'm mixed about an animals butt being higher than it's head (it's my strange hang-up). Although it's truly a more natural pose from what you'd experience in the wild, for some reason, it seems to detract from the majesty of the animal for me.

I'll be hunting tahr in NZ in May and plan to have a full mount. I've seen many tahr full mounts that also have them coming down the mountain and I've had a similar reaction. I'm still trying to decide what pose I'll do for the tahr. Again, this is just me expressing MY tastes and shouldn't be taken as a knock on your piece at all. We're all different in what/why we like certain things and it's just personal preference.

I made a comment on one of your other mounts (Ibex) that the plywood base detracted from the piece. I think what I was trying to say is that the mount is so incredible, the rotary grain plywood base in honey oak finish, doesn't rise to the same level of quality as the rest of the piece. Some nice raised panels in a maple, cherry or exotic wood (even oak) would really be nice. At the very least, a flat grain or quarter grain oak plywood would work better than the rotary grain.

Again, some incredible work! I'm just critiquing about what works or doesn't work for me, as anyone would do when discussing fine art work. It shouldn't be seen as a knock on the piece itself.

wow. Wolves are like cats and separate good taxidermists and great taxidermist. They don't get much better than this. Well done.
