SteveRe: Bug Powder for Mounts
Personaly, if you've got other mounts and the blacktail doesn't hold deep meaning to you, I'd stay away from it. Why invite trouble?
If you really want it, I'd talk to some taxidermists and see what they think. You might also post your question on the forums on
www.taxidermy.net .
In regards to prevention, I've been using
Mount Shield from McKenzie Taxidermy.
I doubt it will kill infestations, though. Just helps prevent them.
Take Care,

LILEDKeep some DDVP strips up near your mounts. This will help keep all the "nastys" out of your mounts. The trade names are NO PEST STRIPS OR PROZAP.

Calif HunterFreezing will work, if you have the room. I put old feathers in the freezer for about a week every so often to kill any bugs. Thanks for the other tips!
