Shipping trophies across the country?

SevensShipping trophies across the country?
This might sound like a dumb question, but I have a bunch of completed trophies in a storage unit in California that I want to ship to my home in Texas. Have any of you done this before? Any shipping/freight companies you guys would recommend? Seems fairly straight forward, but anything I need to know about shipping trophies? The mounts are in wood crates, secured with screws.

Badger MattI secured trophies in wooden crates from AK to VA to PA to FL to CA to SC. Never any damage using regular ol' run-of-the-mill military provided moving companies.
Jerry turned me onto Allen Porter and he just delivered my whole trophy room last week. He did an outstanding job at a reasonable price.
However, since you are already crated, I would think any trucking company should be able to handle it.

SevensJerry, thanks for the recommendation. Gave Alan a call and looks like he'll be doing the transport.
I never realized how big the taxidermy transport business was.

subsailor74Ben Cromeens of Tri-State Taxidermy in Houston, Texas shipped my leopard to my home in Virginia a few weeks ago using UPS freight. The crate was delivered to my doorstep, and my leopard arrived in perfect condition.

Thought I would follow up and say that Alan and his team picked up my animals last Friday in CA and delivered them a week later in Texas. Great guys to work with! I still have my African stuff being completed in CA, so I look forward to having them ship that stuff as well. Pretty amazing all the animals he had on the truck.
