Jack D BoldLeopard Mount
A year ago, my buddy and I each took fantastic leopards with Wayne Grant, cat man extraordinaire.
Here is the culmination of a fantastic Mozambique safari
The Wildlife Gallery created this magnificent mount a few short months later
a closeup
I think I like it.

Bill CAn absolute BRUTE!!! I love the DFWM pose!!!
I'm sure you will look at this mount everyday, nothing like a leopard done right.

rhrommMozambique must have some gorgeous cats. I like the dark colored cats alot. I believe thats my favorite full body mount without it attacking anything. The attention to detail is topnotch!
If I had the money I would get a leopard attacking a babboon or impala.

Wildlife GalleryJack,
You beat me to this. I just loaded the photo's in photo bucket and they are already posted! Awesome cat for a great guy!!!
Now I have to give everyone the rest of the story as it relates to the taxidermy work...
First of all I can't take credit for the actual work, because even though I'm a taxidermist the art of capturing a cat mount correctly is only accomplished by a select few in the industry. That is just my humble opinion, but I think many would agree with me after seeing many different cat mounts. My cat guy is Owen Eldred and he deserves all the credit for mounting Jacks cat...
Secondly, we received this cat from Africa covered in red mold and I was worried sick about the skin even making it to the mount stage. I went directly to the tannery and spoke with the GM there and this skin was 100% babied through the tanning process to ensure we would not loose this magnificent beast...
Thirdly, I had Owen mount this cat the complete opposite direction than Jack wanted him. It is a long story but suffice it to say I screwed the puppy here and failed both Jack and Owen. Because of our personal website that is updated weekly for the customer to see the work in progress, Jack was able to make me aware of my mistake. At that point we completely re-mounted the cat correctly prior to it traveling all the way across the country and showing up the wrong way.
In closing, this project along with every other project we undertake was a true testament to TEAM work. Being the leader of a world class team is truly an honor. But having them reproduce such a magnificent trophy such as Jacks cat is a monumental moment. This picture really doesn't do his cat justice. This cat is a TOAD and definitely the largest leopard we have mounted to date.
Jack - Thanks for the opportunity, and thanks for your patients with me on this one. I look forward to working with you in the future my friend!!!! DAN

Jack D BoldDan,
Thanks again to you and you talented team. No question, Owen knows his stuff- an artist with the cats for sure. How about posting a couple of more pics?
Thanks!

Great cat and stunning mount, as usual, by Dan and the Wildlife Gallery team. Nothing is sadder than taking a great cat and turning it over to a guy that just can't get it right. They sure got yours right!!

awesome cat and from what I can see, an impressive mount. Some of the other taxidermists should take notes.

Nitro ExpressJack;
Do you have any photos from your safari with Grant in them? I'd like to see if he's the same person I met in Zimbabwe several years ago. Thanks.
