bobby7321Goat/Ibex smell. Anything help?
Looking for ideas on how to combat or neutralize the smell from an Ibex mount. I know it will probably never go away, just looking for things that might help.

paulbacsIf it is a new mount it will dissipate in time. Hopefully the lanolin that is in sheep wool was degreased out of the hide during the tanning process.

GrenadierMy ibex stunk up the house for a year, then the upstairs for another, and the office it resides in for a third year. Now it only smells bad when you get within a few feet of it and sniff real deep.
Joe: Hey, Bob, did you hear about the ibex that didn't have a nose?
Bob: He didn't have a nose?
Joe: Nope, no nose at all, not even the nostrils.
Bob: But then how did he smell?
Joe:

BuffHunter63I shot a 6x7 Bull Elk about a dozen years or so ago. The shoulder mount still smells like a bull elk in rut whenever the humidity goes up.
My wife complains, but I kind of like it. Reminds me of being in heavy black timber where the elk are hanging. Makes me want to go elk hunting.
