Who is the best taxidermist for cat mounts in Montana? Thx
21 January 2014, 07:33
A.DahlgrenYou have the best in the world right there. Phil Soucy. I live in Sweden and still send my animals to him.
23 January 2014, 07:32
NavalukA.Dahlgren is absolutely right. Lots on cat hunting in Montana and across the border here in Idaho. Stop looking and call Phil.

FishN4EyesIf you're talking leopard, Monarch Taxidermy in Helena did mine and did a great job.

LittleJoePhil does great work but in his own words you will wait a long time and he is expensive. That is what he told me when I chatted with him about a cat.
Getting in late on this one, but Tony Ward and Stuart Farnsworth at Monarch Taxidermy in Helena, MT are as good as it gets!

boarkillerJohn in Big Bear taxidermy in Darby.
My leopard would cost me $ 5700 with Soucy
John did it for $ 2500 and did outstanding job
Soucy is overpriced primadona , as I gathered from phone conversation with him, but each to their own.
" Until the day breaks and the nights shadows flee away " Big ivory for my pillow and 2.5% of Neanderthal DNA flowing thru my veins.
When I'm ready to go, pack a bag of gunpowder up my ass and strike a fire to my pecker, until I squeal like a boar.

PS I have big boar on my floor...but it ain't dead, just scared to move...
Man should be happy and in good humor until the day he dies...

Robert GarciaPhil Soucy is one, if not the best cat taxidermist in the world! He has done all three of my cougars, and I wouldn't send a cat to anyone else. He is expensive, and there is a wait, but it is more than worth it! Nobody has more cats go through their shop than he does.

Phil SoucyI was poking around the internet and discovered this thread. I was a bit surprised to hear that my prices had increased so much without my knowledge. $5,700.00. I am wondering where that number came from. Maybe you were figuring in a chunky tip. It really does come down to supply and demand, right now the demand outweighs the supply. The wait is I bit long about 14 to 18 months on avg. You really are free to choose how much to spend or how long to wait, I must have really upset you to make you use the "P" word. You are happy with your leopard and that makes me happy. Cheers.

txsouthpawWelcome to AR, Phil. We have seen the outstanding work you have done for several members, and look forward to you sharing some of your future work with us on the forum.

Phil SoucyThanks Southpaw. Here are a couple you could expect to get for around five grand, you would be a bit more with the prey animal.

The Artistry of WildlifeHEY Phil, good to see you here and your Cats my friend. If I don't see you somewhere before the 2015 WORLD SHOW, and you do another combined artist piece. "I WANT my FLOOR SPOT BACK"...LOL
Take care..

twilliDennis Purcell out of Roberts, MT. He has about 8 cats in his shop now. Good work at a fair price. I can get his number for you if you like. He is doing my 62" moose right now and has done a life size brown bear for me. He is excellent to work with and timely. Its just him in his shop.

woodsiePhil did my Mt Lion a couple years ago. It's amazing how awesome it came out. There is no better than Phil for cats.

Phil SoucyDennis, if you were not such a space hog, we could share the "sweet spot". I am not going for size this time, so you are in luck. As elite members of the chairmans club, I have a great plan for awards night. I hope you are in.

The Artistry of WildlifeSpace hog ...ME ? LOL and as for sharing...My wife tells me I don't play well with others....But I really do...

TSEMPI believe anyone who talks to Phil Soucy will see he is all class and a man of integrity. I personally have had two cats done by him and believe their is none better. I don't feel he is any higher priced than his competition. Hunts are getting to expensive to cheapen out on the quality of the taxidermy. This will be a reminder of your hunt for years. Don't ruin it by being cheap.
