Is it legal for a private person to sell taxidermy of animals on the Cities lists?
For example, can a guy sell his leopard or mountain zebra mounts?

Here is the rub, You will get lots of different answers to this one depending on who you ask. As far as USFWS goes, many will say that it can be sold within your state but can not cross state lines. Most people who look into this come to that conclusion. HOWEVER, some at the state level may say no depending on the laws of your state. You have to have both Federal and State laws on your side and that may be hard to do.

My recommendation is do not do it. There are too many people that should know the answers to this that do not know the answers. Does that make any sense? Too much of a gray area IMO and not worth the risk.

Your answer makes perfect sense. State guys here in Durango don't have a clue. I have some questions in to USF&W but I'm not hopeful I'll get substantive answers from them, either.
