Mary Hilliard-KruegerAR member safari-lawyer's leopard rug
Will wanted a rug that would stay flat on the wall when hung so I put a light yet firm carpet backing on this scalloped leather bordered beauty along with d-rings for hanging.
Chris mounted and finished the head.

LittleJoeI could never rug a leopard but if I did; no question it would go to Mary. Well done Mary and Will.

Larry SellersWill - Great looking cat/rug. I have one that looks a lot like it. Oh, that's right Mary did mine too. Great work Mary as usual.

Three lifesize leopards were enough.

safari-lawyerThe rug is stunning.
It really is unique, not to mention that it is the cat mounting technique of times gone by.
My father walked in a few minutes after the rug hit the floor and announced that it was his favorite piece of the 75 or so mounts that hang in my TR.
Well done Mary . . . you are THE specialty rugmaker in the USA. Next up, croc and zebra.

Too overstated with the form in the head. I would go for the flat skin option.

I guess I'm old-fashioned...I love rugs! That one is magnificent!

I was joking. You will almost never see one these days as I can't imagine anyone doing this. Those that you do see will be antiques.

lavacaVery well done and a great trophy.
Mary,
My son has been wanting a zebra to hang on his wall and all my rugs (with carpet backing) are just too heavy, sag in the middle, etc. Sounds like something with the d-rings that are described in this post might work. Any ideas? I expect more zebra skins this October. Thanks.

Mary Hilliard-KruegerThank you for the kind words.
It has been my pleasure to turn so many of your beautiful skins into high quality taxidermy rug art.
Kind regards,
Mary
