I have two black bear skins, neither of which are impressive in size. I won't be making a rug or a mount out of them (these were my first bears, and I really misjudged their size).

I was thinking of maybe trying to make a small throw out of them. They are quite similar in colour, but I guess it would still be best to sow together alternating "strips"?

Then of course this would have to be put onto some sort of backing.

Does anybody has experience with this?

Resources on the web, where I can learn more?

(Edit: hmmm... looking at the available straight pieces, there might not be too much material to work with. There is a big hole in one because of the spinal hit, and a large gash in the other, where I suspect the tanner to have been a bit overzealous with his machine)
