Longhorn Steer Mount?
Kind of a strange request, but.... I am a member of the vet school fraternity at Auburn and we had a gorgeous longhorn steer shoulder mount. Keyword had. When Texas A&M came to play football this past fall, he mysteriously disappeared over the weekend. What do these mounts typically cost, and what avenues are the best to go through with getting them? Seeing Mr. Huffaker's stunning specimen got me stirred up!

I dunno what mounting one costs, but I can supply you with a cow that has much better horns than that steer that Jerry mounted for a helluva lot less than it will cost to mount her. If you've got a large yard you could call her living art and, almost certainly, you'll have a bonus calf before long. Big Grin

When she has that calf, just pen it near anything you need guarded and it won't be bothered. Mama Longhorns tend to be very protective.

When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere.

NEVER, EVER book a hunt with BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING or JEFF BLAIR.

I have come to understand that in hunting, the goal is not the goal but the process.

PS: I can't believe those Aggies would have the temerity to steal a longhorn mount. They are so dumb they probably thought they were playing Texas! Smiler

My favorite Aggie joke: Texas Aggie coyote, caught in a steel trap, chewed three legs off, still caught in trap.

Great joke. We aren't sure they stole it, after the beatdown they put on our pathetic football team we all got really heavy in the bourbon, and woke up the next morning and it was gone. Appreciate the offer, but got enough grass munchers running around to care for. holycow
