Taxidermists love them . . . they don't have to finish off the back of the mount plus they make a few extra dollars on the plaque AND the nameplate!

Do any of you use "mount shields" for your trophies? They're a kind of wooden plaque (or other material I suppose) that your mount is secured to and then hung on the wall. I don't care for them but the latest issue of SCI mag has an ad showing a dall sheep mounted on one so I was curious as to how popular they are.

I don't really like their looks but noticed several at the Dallas Safari Show. So maybe there is a market for them.

Or someone wants there to be one.
