cleaning dusty birds
A science teacher friend has just inherited a classroom from a retired biology teacher. There are several bird mounts (turkey, goose, pheasant, etc.) and they are VERY dusty.
Suggestions I can pass along?
Swifer style duster or other dusting wipes?
Canned air blowing the dusty towards a vacuum cleaner a foot or so away from the mount?
Just vacuum the mounts, gently?
Thanks,
Lou M

BTT.
Was this the wrong forum to ask this question?
The birds are still dusty and summer is the time to clean them.

Lou, I just use a feather duster going with the direction of the feathers.

I use very fresh bread.
It will pick up dust like magic

Get a makeup brush that the ladies use. Go with the feathers and they will look great.

This was the recommendation given to me by my bird taxidermist.

My taxidermist told me to use a feather from a pheasant or similar to clean the feathers of the stuffed bird.
