Ringing out hides
I've been tanning some beaver hides using pro tanning formula and you have to squeeze out the hide twice a day. The hides are soaking in a 30 gallon garbage can. So i bought one of those commercial mop buckets. The squeezer thing on the bucket comes off and fits right over the edge of the garbage can. Then a whole beaver hide will go in where the mop is supposed to go and you just depress the lever and it squeezes the hide out good. Then i take the squeezer off and put the hides back on and put the lid on the garbage can. The mop bucket would be large enough to soak the hides, however it doesn't have a lid. The garbage can has a tight lid, so the solution doesn't evaporate.

I tried the ringer washing machine, but the skin got stuck and now one beaver doesn't have whiskers.

Anyway most of you all probably get your hides tanned professionally for your taxidermy work. But if anyone is just trying their hand at tanning some hides, the mop bucket is a easy way to wring them out.
