Looking for a good taxidermist in the Dallas/Ft Worth area
I might have a Cape Buffalo to have mounted soon. Any internet links or names would be appreciated. Thanks,
Roger

sculptorIt seems that all of the taxidermists that post on this site do excellent work. One of my best clients lives in Fort Worth and I have done many African mounts including Cape Buffalo for him. Most taxidermists that do good work depend heavily on orders from hunters outside their areas. Reputation, service, and quality should be and is considered by many besides just location. For example since the first of this year my studio has recieved African and Asian safaris in from New Mexico, Colorado, California and Texas. If you want to stay local with a taxidermist Jerry Huffaker would be a great choice for you. He is one of the very best in the country.

dogcatHuffaker post pics of his work and it is very good. Brush Country in Houston does good work also.
There are a bunch to avoid, as you have likely learned.

Any chance you could list (or PM) the names of taxidermists to avoid in Texas? I'm moving to Dallas soon and would prefer to avoid any problems with taxidermists - been there, done that already.

I work out of DFW as an airline pilot and I am always over there. Plus I can have trophies imported there and bring them home myself after they are done and save shipping cost.
