Turkey Feathers
Hello everyone. First time posing in the Taxidermy forum. I'm in the planning stages of building a predator decoy using turkey feathers, a small electric motor, and a weight to cause the motor to shake. A friend gave me a complete wing from a turkey he killed this weekend and I'm looking for a relatively easy way to remove the feathers with minimal damage. I was hoping someone here could help.

If you try to pull the wing feathers out by hand you probably will ruin the feathers.I would take small wire cutters and cut the quills off close to the wing

Take a knife and side it right along the wing bone, this will release it from the bone then cut the feathers from the skin.

Real easy and you don't wreck the feather

Hey, thanks guys. Both ideas seem to work really well. Plus the fact that some hungry maggots loosened things up a bit.
